Parasite SEO Checklist: Before, During and After You Publish

A parasite SEO checklist has three stages: choose the page, search and platform before you write; publish something useful and honest; then check the result. Use it per placement.

Before you write

• Pick a target page on your site that already answers the search well. A weak page is a blocking problem, not a detail.
• Pick one realistic search, ideally a longtail or decision query ("is it worth it", "vs alternatives", "pros and cons"). See keyword research.
• Check how open the search is with the free checker.
• Find the platform that already ranks for it. Search the phrase and note who is in the top five. The platform playbooks cover each.
• Confirm the format that ranks there (comment on a ranking Reddit thread, a LinkedIn article, a YouTube video description).
• Read the platform's rules on links and self-promotion.

While you write

• Answer the question in the first lines.
• Use the search phrase naturally in the title or first sentence where the format allows it.
• Give it its own angle, not a copy of your page.
• Disclose who you are where the platform expects it.
• Link once, where it helps, to the exact page that continues the topic.
• Add a real example, number or step that makes it useful on its own.

After you publish

• Record the URL, date, platform and target search.
• Check indexing by searching the exact title in quotes after a few weeks. See getting pages indexed faster.
• Check whether it ranks for the target search and whether it sends clicks.
• Keep what works, drop what does not, and reuse the angle on another platform.
• Re-check periodically. Placements can be removed.
