Reddit helps SEO most for evaluation searches, where people are deciding between options. In our study of 6,620 US searches, Reddit pages appeared in the top 10 for 9.4% of them and held a top-3 spot 168 times, with an average position of 5.9. For "vs alternatives" searches it appeared 21% of the time, for "is it worth it" 20% and for "pros and cons" 19%. On plain "best" or "reviews" searches it was much rarer.
